New book about tire/road friction

Has anyone read this book yet?  What do you think?

"Analyzing Friction in the Design of Rubber Products and Their Paired Surfaces"

From CRC Press.

Whew, sounds like a great cure for insomnia.  sleepy.gif

I'm not familiar with that particular book, but I can loan you my copy of Forensic Aspects of Driver Perception and Response if you are still having trouble sleeping.  biggrin

Just kidding.  If Dr. Olson or Mr. Farber are reading this, I really appreciate your work so please don't be offended by my reference.wink

BTW, I just found a pretty good article about the dynamics of ABS that was published by the European Journal of Physics.  The paper uses calculus to model the different responses between ABS and non-ABS braking, and it gives a fairly clear explanation of the differences from a physics standpoint.  Excellent conversation starter at ****tail parties.  If anybody is interested I'll dig up the web address and post it.

I just noticed this post. Does anyone else find it odd that ****tail is partially asterisked out? Is that mature language filter gone Gestapo, or did you type it that way, David?
